Prom Queen

Prom Queen is a site specific piece exploring wealth, public perception and exhibitionism. A few wooden boxes were constructed. Inside each box was a person embodying a different stereotype such as a crying prom queen in pink with mascara tears cascading down her face. There is a fish eye glass that allows audience members to look in, if they dare. I developed this with Luke Smithers, a photographer and designer.

Given
“Given is a reinterpretation of the Pieta scene. The work is a huge apple sculpture, with a peeping-hole in its center. The viewer peeps through the hole, privately watching two performers posing as Maria and Jesus.” - Shay Arick
