The Human Body Gallery is a collection of nude images. All the artists and models are in the same community. This emerged out of a desire to showcase and celebrate the differences in bodies within a group of people. Below each image is a questionnaire filled out by the models. The artists have also written statements. The show is not only about the image but the experience of being drawn nude. The art showcases the body and mind of participants, while using anonymity to mitigate judgment based on facial expression or recognition of that individual. To avoid exhibitionism and promote immersion and exchange, the audience members are asked if they will allow artists to draw the parts of your body they are currently showing (with the exception of the face). This lead to many images of toes, hands and bits of ankle, even a comical floating wrist.  The audience is also asked to  fill out a questionnaire which is added to their image and posted in the gallery. In this way, the audience becomes a contributor to the gallery, not an outside gaze or judgement.

Feel free to get in contact if you have additional questions, can offer resources, support or if you’d like to see the The Human Body Gallery in your area.
